Sponsors and Grantors

Many, many thanks to a great organization, the Equus Foundation.org, for a $3,500 grant award to help support our permanent resident horses at AGES. The Board of Directors of the EQUUS Foundation announced that over $250,000 was awarded in grants and scholarships this year. “Grants are awarded to equine charities operating at the highest standards for horse care and use, and for programs where it is needed most. These charities are hard at work every day rescuing and rehabilitating unwanted horses, retraining horses after their sport careers are over, and providing homes where they continue to serve, especially for the special needs and veterans communities, or where they can live out their lives in comfort as they deserve.”

Hi! I’m in the process of rescuing a horse and a pony from a kill pen. I was wondering if you guys would be willing to help me with it? I’m working on creating a business of rescuing abused, neglected and untrained horses and then either rehabilitating them or training them so they have a second chance! I eventually want to incorporate an additional program where I have people who suffer from mental illness (like depression, anxiety, bipolar and especially PTSD) can work with the horses so it builds them up. I just need a start! Can you give me any help, whether financially or mentoring? I’m a single mom and disabled veteran due to my PTSD…. And I want to help using my passion for horses and compassion for people.

    Hi Melinda,

Kudos to you for taking on the additional challenge of horse rescue with all you have currently going on! We are happy to share any knowledge we may have, but also encourage you to build rapport with the vets and other horse experts in your area. Please let us know how your rescue turns out!
