I have a mare and a 4 month old foal. My future husband and I are determining how to proceed with the weaning process. I am considering adopting donkeys for pasture mates so they have another animal with them.

I am interestd in Emerson if he is broke. I have a 4 H girl that I work with that would benefit from owning a curly due to allergies. Could you let me know if he is broke to ride for a beginner/intermediate type rider. Thank you. Dawn

We are in South Dakota and looking for a beginner kids horse or pony for 4-H project (hubby would prefer a gelding if we adopt one).

Was reading about the Saddlebred cross mare you have, Nallah, and her problem with ear fungus. We purchased a rabbit for one of our boys a couple years ago who had that (found out after we bought her)… for a year we had veterinarians and show judges trying to tell us it was ear mites and repeatedly treated her for that. Finally had my mom who’s a nurse look at Pocus’ ears and she said it looked like a fungus. After cleaning her ears the peroxide to soften and remove the crusty growth, I treated her homeopathically for two weeks with a combination of tea tree and lavender essential oil (strong antifungal, antibacterial and antiviral essential oils) For a horse, you may need a vet or chiropractor’s help to clean up crusty growth first, but essential oil therapy is inexpensive thing to try and clear up her problem.

Hi Meredith, Thanks for your interest in Andrew! He is a very sweet boy who has come to love people attention! He has adjusted well to his life here. He is around 8 years old and has no training at all that we are aware of, as the situation we pulled him and his brother from was one where they were not handled at all. He learned what a halter is for the day they were rescued. That being said, he is very eager to please and willing. What is your experience with horses, and is this something you would be able to take on?

Yes hello Admin I have been riding for 6 years and have been locking fore a good horse for me and Appaloosas are my favorite horse breed. I ride Western and do not like English I saw that in Andrew’s info that you were going the train him for baril racing and also I am kind of concerned about him being a blank slate with no training. Also I would like to know his temperament, the price you want for him, and how long you have had him at your sanctuary?
pleas get back to me at my email at mkohls@npsd.k12.wi.us.
